Windows Xp For Mac

Using Windows XP for Mac is now a possibility thanks to various emulators and an assistant called Boot Camp, which lets you install XP directly on to your Mac. Emulators on the other hand will create a virtual environment in which you can run XP, while still running the Mac OS.

Emulators and Boot Camp, will both let you use Windows XP for Mac, but each has their own set of advantages and disadvantages. Emulators create a virtual environment in you Mac OS, and hence you require additional RAM, otherwise the XP window will run quite slow.

The slow response is especially felt while running Windows games in a virtualized environment without adequate RAM. With an emulator, you are running two operating systems at the same time, and therefore there is quite a load on your system resources.

However, transfer between the two OS is almost seamless depending on the emulator. Secondly, if there is virus infestation in the virtualized environment of Windows XP for Mac, then the harm is not transferred on to the Mac OS.

Using Windows XP for Mac with Boot Camp, lets you use each OS individually at one time. This means you will have to restart your computer every time you need to switch between the two OS.

However, since you are running only one OS at a time, there is much less load on your system resources and RAM. You do not require additional RAM for a quicker response time for your games and other applications.

Secondly, Boot Camp is available free, while certain sophisticated emulators with advanced features have to be purchased. You have two choices of emulator and Boot Camp, to use Windows XP for Mac.

You need to consider your individual requirements carefully before choosing one of the options. If you need to switch frequently between OS then emulator is a good option, however you need a good amount of RAM.
